What We BelieveAt Happy Paws our mission is clear: to provide you with peace of mind and your dog with safe and healthy fun activity that will socialize him or her throughout the day. At the end of the work day you are both ready to go home, eat dinner and RELAX!
Our Philosophy espouses that life is too short to go without a day of fun with good friends. There are several things that make us remarkably different than most. We have a stable, consistent pack. Unlike most daycares who don't have a limit on the number of dogs they take in each day - we do not take "drop ins". Our pack members know each other very well. We know them very well. They won't be coming to camp to find any strangers there that they may have a conflict with. Our pups have demonstrated compatibility over time. We limit our numbers to 15 per day. Our updates keep you aware of how your beloved dog is doing. We celebrate holidays and birthdays (full on parties for first birthdays!) We do not routinely crate dogs for any portion of the day. We do not "nickle and dime" our customers to death. We care very much about the quality of your dog's day and their feelings! Our Day camp is an adventure that builds confidence and trust with the dogs and their humans! Our pups have established themselves as a pack. Many have been here since our doors opened in 2011. About UsCrystal and Billy have been dog owners and caretakers most of their lives. They have always loved their canine family members with a real commitment to their happiness and well being. Billy believes life is not complete unless you are sharing it with your animals and they bring joy and love into their home daily. Crystal graduated in 1994 from SUNY Albany with her MSW. Working to help others improve their lives has always been the core of her professional life. Billy also owns his own business Town- n- Country Barber. http://www.town-n-countrybarber.com
also at 670 Pawling Ave and celebrated 50 years in business as a Barber in Troy, NY on June 11, 2011. The original concept for this business came from Billy – his support and participation have made this dream a reality. We had no idea it would be this much fun and result in such a special, unique pack of humans and canines. We are blessed beyond our wildest dreams with this life!! Jennifer Blessings was our 2013 Summer Intern from the University of New Hampshire. She interned 20+ hours weekly and made huge contributions to our pack. She is learning about canine behavior, canine training, and canine grooming among other things. With her passion for dogs she fits right in at Happy Paws...someday this gal is going to be very famous in the dog world! She transfered in the fall of 2014 to Bergin University (a college based just around canines) where she concentrates in canine behavior and the human - animal bond. She spends a large amount of time with her beautiful golden retriever Riley, whom she considers to be a family member for life. She has special gifts when it comes to dogs that were readily apparent from day one. She is worked with a few pack members to target and improve their confidence levels. We were (and still are) truly lucky to have her as a friend and colleague. She lives (for the summer) with her family in Averill Park. Certified Dog Trainer, Teri Rudolph, provides consultation and staff development trainings for the Happy Paws on Pawling community. Teri offers various levels of canine classes as well as private lessons targeting your specific goals. She is a positive, humane trainer who happens to be a lot of fun to work with! She can be reached at 518 209-2136. Please check her out on Facebook. Our team made a decision to become politically involved as advocates for all dogs. We reach out to (and actively support) our lawmakers in their efforts to strengthen animal cruelty laws in our community. We are passionate about dogs. They are in our hearts, souls, and lives each and every day! We also regularly donate to organizations that we believe in who are out there rescuing and giving everything they can to help better the lives of dogs. We are absolutely in love with the rescue freedom project and have a rescued research / animal testing survivor in our pack. We don't look away at animal cruelty. Being a part of the solution feels terrific! |
